After Game Analysis TSM Practice for Scrim with Regi as Their new coach.
One of the biggest advantages in this game is having the right runes to successfully punish the enemy if they have a weak early lane or simply survive if you are on the flip side. As a fresh lvl 20 you will be able to buy tier 3 runes. The biggest limiting factor at this point is the amount of influence points you have. At level 20 you will not have enough create a fully decked out rune page for you specific champion or role. Especially if you spent some at the earlier levels on tier 1 & 2′s.
This is where you want to play your cards right. You want to make sure to only buy runes you will use frequently because buying runes you rarely use can seriously hinder your progression. I am going to start off with this AD Carry Rune selection guide then follow up with the other roles later on.
AD CARRY RUNES -
- Greater Quintessence of Life Steal x3 – 6150 IP (2050 ea)
- Greater Mark of Attack Damage x9 – 1845 IP (205 ea)

- Greater Glyph of Magic Resist x9 – 1845 IP (205 ea)
Total Runes cost is 11685 IP which can take up to 100 game, so chose your runes wisely!
OTHER AD CARRY RUNES -
- Greater Quintessence of Attack Damage x3 – 3075 IP (1025 ea)
- Greater Mark of Critical Chance – Some pros add 1 for a lucky crit.
I’m going to take a little time here to explain the rune selection. The choice for flat damage and lifesteal for the common AD carry is made because throughout the laning phase you will be constantly auto attacking creeps. The flat damage helps you last hit better vs its alternative, armor pen, which is only effective against champions and jungle creeps. The flat damage also has synergy with lifesteal runes (the harder you hit the more life you steal).
The Armor runes in the yellow is probably the most common runes across the board for all roles and champions. It is one of the most effective runes for that slot (sometimes flat health can be a contender). You benefit so little from any other runes making it the prime choice.
Finally for the Blue slot, you will see either flat MR or scaling MR used from most pros around the world. The choice for flat MR is mostly for laning against the enemy support as a lot of their damage dealt will be magic damage. If the enemy support deals physical damage you will sometimes see the AD carry player use scaling MR.
I choose this rune set because they are the most common rune set used by pros world wide. It will work on any ADC with many optimal runes across the board. This concludes my quick guide to ADC Rune Selection. Check back later for my post on support Rune selection!
